Vincent Lam to read from his first novel The Headmaster s Wager as part of the Lorenzo Reading Series

Author Vincent Lam will read from his first novel, The Headmaster’s Wager on Friday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. in the Ganong Hall Lecture Hall, on the Saint John campus of the University of New Brunswick.

Vincent Lam’s short story collection, Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures, won the 2006 Scotiabank Giller Prize, and was adapted for television and broadcast on HBO Canada. Lam is also co-author of The Flu Pandemic and You, which received an award from the American Medical Writers Association in 2007, and the author of the biography Tommy Douglas, published as part of the Extraordinary Canadians series in 2011.

Born and educated in Canada, Lam is from the expatriate Chinese community of Vietnam and works as an emergency physician and university lecturer in Toronto. The Headmaster’s Wager is his first novel.
