UNB men s hockey coach awarded Diamond Jubilee Medal

Gardiner MacDougall, head coach of the UNB men's hockey team, was awarded
the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal by MLA Jack Carr in a surprisepresentation during the UNB Hockey Golf Tournament at The Kingswood Park
Lodge recently.
MacDougall is a three-time AUS Coach of the Year and was named CIS Coach ofthe Year in 2010. He was a member of the 2007 AUS World University Games
gold medal winning team and will lead the AUS men's hockey team as they
compete in the winter Universiade in Italy scheduled for December 2013.
UNB vice-president (research) Greg Kealey and Margaret Conrad, UNB honoraryresearch professor were also awarded the Diamond Jubilee Medal.
The new commemorative medal was created to mark the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. The medal honours the significant contributions and achievements of Canadians.
MacDougall, Kealey and Conrad are three of 60,000 deserving Canadians who will be recognized this year.
