Public invited to Nov 21 launch of Romeo LeBlanc Biography

The University of New Brunswick is pleased to host the launch of biography of Roméo LeBlanc by Naomi E. S. Griffiths.  Entitled The Golden Age of Liberalism:  A Portrait of Roméo Leblanc, the book will be launched Monday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. in the Chancellor's Room at the Wu Conference Centre, UNB Fredericton. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend. Journalist, politician, cabinet minister, Governor-General, and New Brunswicker, Roméo Leblanc was a leading Liberal politician in the Pearson-Trudeau-Chrétien era when Liberals dominated Canadian politics. He was also an Acadian, proud of his heritage and always conscious of the impact of federal measures on the Maritime Acadian community. Naomi Griffiths is this country's foremost Acadian historian.  The author or co-author of nine books, including The Context of Acadian History, she is a professor emerita in history and a Distinguished Research Professor at Carleton University.  She holds an MA in history and an honorary Doctor of Letters degree from UNB. Dr. Griffiths will do a brief reading and sign copies at the launch.  Books will be available to purchase on site.
