The University of New Brunswick and the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers (AUNBT) have announced finalization of a new collective agreement.  The agreement, concluded by a binding conciliation board, affects approximately 580 full-time academic instructors and librarians at UNB, whose last collective agreement expired in June 2009. The new collective agreement will see a salary adjustment of 9.5% over four years (2009 to 2013) which includes 0% in the first year. AUNBT's full-time academic instructors and librarians are one of two AUNBT bargaining groups.  AUNBT's part-time academic employees, numbering approximately 550 contract academic instructors and librarians, are awaiting the final decision of their own binding arbitration board.  The two employee groups negotiate as separate and distinct bargaining groups. The AUNBT and UNB have agreed that any further communication with the media regarding this award will be by way of joint statements.
