David Richards and Stephen Griffin are breathing a huge sigh of relief.
The two men have spent the last year at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton learning the business side of their engineering profession - a task that required many long hours and unfettered commitment.
On Thursday, they were among those celebrating their success at UNB's fall convocation at the Aitken University Centre, part of the institution's 225th anniversary celebrations.
Richards and Griffin, both working engineers from Saint John, became the first two recipients of the university's MBA degree in engineering management.
"It was a long year, but it's over now," Richards said.
"It was a big commitment and pretty much involved working as much as I could. I had to do my normal job and was doing homework at night and classes at night. There really wasn't much time for anything else, other than work and school."
