New students at the University of New Brunswick were asked to make a promise Tuesday.
Tony Secco, vice-president of academics, told the first-year students the university will do everything within its resources to help them become successful, but he asked that they, in turn, promise to commit to working hard and attending classes.
"Make the best of this publicly funded, wonderful institution to achieve your full potential," Secco said. "We promise to do everything in our power to help you achieve your full potential, and everything within our resources to make your journey here at UNB a successful one."
Secco spoke to the new students at the university's opening ceremonies at the Aitken University Centre on Tuesday.
