Mourning the passing of former UNB bookstore employee Sandra Halcrow

Please join us in offering condolences to family and friends of former UNB bookstore employee Sandra Halcrow, who passed away on Monday, Dec. 2. NB. She was 83.

Born in Saint John, Sandra earned a BSc and MSc in biochemistry from Dalhousie University. While studying at Dalhousie, Sandra met her husband, Kevin Halcrow, who was ultimately a biology professor at UNB Saint John. After graduating, she worked as a research technician at Dalhousie and Yale Universities and lived in Plymouth, UK. When Kevin began working at UNB Saint John, Sandra raised their three children and then eventually went on to work at the UNB Saint John Bookstore.

Sandra is remembered by friends and colleagues as a joyful, trustworthy and dedicated employee and mother who was always respectful of others. She also loved bowling, reading, gardening and volunteering.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, Dec. 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Royal Kennebeccasis Yacht Club in Saint John. Condolences can be made online. Flags have been lowered on both the Fredericton and Saint John campuses. Sandra will be missed by all who knew her and our thoughts are with her family.
