This is a reminder that members of the UNB community are invited to participate in a university-wide Strategic Planning Town Hall on Friday, Oct. 25, from 2:30 – 5 p.m. in Tilley Hall 102 and Hazen Hall 239.

The Town Hall will be broken into three parts:

  • Chair of the Steering Committee, Vice-President Academic (Fredericton) Dr. George MacLean will provide an update on the planning process
  • President & Vice-Chancellor Dr. Paul Mazerolle will speak to us about his aspirations and priorities for UNB
  • All attendees will be invited to engage in an open discussion about UNB's future, in the context of strategic planning

Attendees are invited to bring a tablet, laptop, or cell phone (any device that can send text messages or connect to a web browser) as we plan to use Poll Everywhere to ask you a few questions!

While we will start on time, we understand that schedules are busy; please join us whenever you can on Oct. 25 between 2:30 - 5 p.m. If you can't make it to the event, but wish to provide feedback or ask questions, please email

We are currently nearing the end of Phase 2 of strategic planning.  This phase is focused on articulating the community’s preferred future for UNB through a series of position papers.  These position papers will serve as advice to the Strategic Planning Steering Committee and the President as we move into Phase 3 of strategic planning.  Earlier this week, we began releasing early drafts of position papers via our website:  You may wish to read these ahead of the Town Hall, but please do still attend even if you've not had a chance to review them.
