Early Alert for Student Success - Faculty Reminder

Faculty are reminded to refer the names of students they believe to be academically at-risk to

The Early Alert for Student Success (EASS) program works to connect at-risk students with the appropriate campus support students in a timely manner. 

Faculty who teach first-year students are encouraged to assess early in their courses and to meet with students who may be at-risk.  "At-risk" may be defined as a student who receives a "D" or "F" on an assessment (paper, test, or quiz), a student who fails to turn in an assessment, or a student who routinely skips classes or labs. 

While participation in the program is voluntary, research has shown that faculty involvement is linked to positive gains in student progress and engagement in the classroom--meeting with students to discuss your concern for their success is an important first step.  After meeting with the student, please forward his/her name, student ID #, and your course name and number onto
