Pour, puddle and drip your acrylic paint…those are the key techniques that you’ll use in this relaxed and fun Leisure Learning "Spill Painting" workshop, on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 1 - 4 p.m. Gone are paint brushes and palette knives! Learn how to use gravity to move paint across a canvas. The results are unlike anything you get with a brush: fluid flows of paint without any brush marks or texture.

Through demonstration-led learning, Instructor Kristi Williston walks you through the process of setting up your painting space, and shows you tips on easy preparation and cleanup. You’ll explore how to mix your acrylics and prep paint for a spill, along with how to layer your paint, choose colors and which techniques result in which style of painting.

You’ll also see the impact of incorporating different additives on your artwork (such as WD30 and lubricants, and even oats). You’ll finish the day having completed a few unique masterpieces to take home (after a couple days of drying).

All materials are provided.

For more information or to register, visit the College of Extended Learning’s website or call 453-4646. Whatever your interests, there’s a Leisure Learning course for you!
