Early Alert for Student Success - UNB Saint John

As we move toward the end of September, faculty are reminded about the Early Alert for Student Success (EASS) program, which works to help the campus support students who are potentially at-risk with respect to academic performance. 

Faculty who teach first-year students are encouraged to assess early in their courses and to meet with students who may be at-risk.  "At-risk" may be defined as a student who receives a "D" or "F" on an assessment (paper, test, or quiz), a student who fails to turn in an assessment, or a student who routinely skips classes or labs. 

Higher education research has shown that faculty involvement in student progress is linked to a student's engagement in the course--meeting with students to discuss your concern for their success is an important first step.  After meeting with the student, please forward his/her name, student ID #, and your course name and number onto
