All members of the UNB Fredericton community are invited to Commencement on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 3:30 p.m. at The Richard J. CURRIE CENTER. This ceremony, along with Encaenia and Convocation, act as “bookends’ to the academic experience of our students.

This annual ceremony is our opportunity to officially welcome new students to our campus and celebrate their entry into higher education. Commencement also introduces and highlights our history and traditions.

Commencement will begin with a bagpipe-led procession starting at McLeod House and will include messages from our President, Vice-President Academic (Fredericton), Knowledge-Keeper-in-Residence, and welcome from the Student Union President and the Student Union Indigenous Student Representative.

A reserved section of seating will be available for faculty and staff who choose to attend. Faculty and staff are encouraged to wear our UNB colours.

If the rain plan is to be put into effect, a notice will be circulated by 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 31. New students will be led directly to the Performance Hall in the RJCC by those responsible for Orientation in the residences and TownHouse.
