Please join me in offering condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of retired faculty member Sibylla Marina Dickson, who passed away on July 10, 2019. She was 75.

Originally from Germany, Sibylla attended the University of Munich. In 1969, Sibylla came to Canada, where she began teaching in the German department at the University of New Brunswick Saint John and then at UNB Fredericton in 1973. She retired as associate professor in 1999 after 30 years of service.

Sibylla spent much of retirement enjoying her various hobbies, including painting, golfing and spending quality time with family and friends. She was well known for her kind and caring nature. She also had a great sense of humour and was always laughing.

Friends, family and colleagues remember Sibylla for her witty and lively personality. She truly had a knack for making others feel good about themselves and made friends wherever she went. Sibylla’s personality and kindness will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will take place at a later date. Condolences can be made online. Flags have been lowered on both the Fredericton and Saint John campuses. Sibylla will be missed by all who knew her and our thoughts are with her family.

Sincerely,

Dr. Paul J. Mazerolle

President and Vice-Chancellor
