UNB is recognized as a place where great ideas can be turned into successful businesses. We have the creative minds, business knowledge and entrepreneurial skills to make this happen.  Now, thanks to the recently established Fraser Student Venture Fund (FSVF), members of the UNB community have access to real money to help take their early stage startups to the next the level.

The FSVF was established within the Faculty of Management so that UNB students could experience the role of a venture capitalist first hand by awarding real money to real UNB startups. If you have an early stage startup you think is ready for kickstart funding, submit it to the students in the Venture Assessment course for evaluation. Taught by Raymond Fitzpatrick, Director of Investments with the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation; Dr. Devashis Mitra, Dean of the Faculty of Management and professor of finance, will cover some topics.

Students will be working with real venture capitalists, business students in our Venture Assessment course will apply their specialized knowledge and skills to analyze and valuate your startup; if they see real potential for success, your startup will be recommended to the Fraser Investment Committee for funding.

Submit your business plan for consideration to Raymond Fitzpatrick, Director of Investments, New Brunswick Innovation Foundation NIBIF), via email at

NOTE: To be considered for this opportunity, you must be a UNB student, faculty member, staff or alumni.
