UNB has struck a Mental Health Steering Committee to identify the challenges, and opportunities, within the university in relation to our efforts to support student mental health.  The Steering Committee’s work will prepare for and provide a broad-scale, consultative review of our support for student mental health scheduled to begin this fall.

Issues surrounding student mental health and wellness are complex and multi-dimensional with significant impacts on Counselling and Student Services, as well as the broader university community.

Each student presents herself/himself differently in different situations and with different people. Many faculty and staff, on both campuses, are engaged in identifying, and supporting students, with mental health challenges.

This bi-campus committee wants to understand the challenges faculty and staff encounter when working with these students; their roles in supporting them and the resources required.  In order to do that, we need some information from you.

A short, anonymous survey has been created that will be used to develop a comprehensive mental health strategy for UNB.  It won’t take very much time to complete, but will help us ensure that we providing the best services we can for our students.  The survey will remain open until June 21st.

Thank you for your time and attention to this important matter.
