In the span of a year we can accumulate a lot of digital “clutter," from apps we don’t use anymore, to unorganized files we plan on sorting through later, to email trash bins overflowing with junk mail.

A bit of digital spring cleaning can go a long way in helping you not only feel more organized, but also keep your personal information and accounts secure.

This spring, give these digital cleaning tips a try:

  • Make sure all your software and apps are up to date.
  • Review your social media privacy and security settings.
  • Declutter your email accounts and empty your trash bins.
  • Ensure your passwords are all unique and complex.
  • Remove apps you don’t use anymore from your devices.
  • Back up important information and files.
