UNBF's Department of Sociology Research Workshop will take place on Friday, April 5, from 2:30 - 5:30 p.m. in the Milham Room.

Dr. Daniel Dutton, Community Health & Epidemiology, Dalhousie University and Sociology Adjunct, will present, "Quantile Regression: A Primer Background and Applied Examples."

Free workshop. Space for 25 participants. Register at socio@unb.ca

In applied social science research we sometimes come across skewed variables where the skew itself is important. Variables like test scores, body mass index, waiting times, income, house prices, or age of death are all skewed variables where, perhaps, the average is not as informative as the distribution. This presentation will introduce the audience to quantile regression, a helpful tool that has an application to the study of skewed distributions.
