Looking for something to do this weekend? Join artist Kim Bent in an introductory crochet workshop, and discover the world of this unique fibre art, on Saturday, Nov. 24, from 1-5 p.m.

While more experienced learners are welcome, the focus is on basic activities and skills. Learn how to make a “granny square” (or is it a diamond?). These are the basic building blocks for larger projects. To get there, you’ll learn and practice two universal crochet stitches: the chain stitch and the double crochet stitch.

If you're more ambitious and get “hooked”, you’ll learn the single crochet stitch, and possibly even the triple crochet stitch! Bring some yarn if you like (although all necessary supplies and tools will be provided). Making something with your hands can be a great way to relieve stress!

For more information or to register, visit the College of Extended Learning’s website at www.unb.ca/cel/leisurelearning or call 453-4646. Whatever your interests, there’s a Leisure Learning course for you!
