NaviCare/SoinsNavi is a free bilingual navigation centre for children/youth 25 years of age or younger with complex care needs in New Brunswick. This population often requires significant additional medical/health, social and/or educational support beyond what is required by children/youth in general. “Like On-Star service, NaviCare/SoinsNavi can help UNB students with complex care needs navigate through a complicated maze of services to meet their needs in a supportive personalized way,” says Jennifer Splane, Nurse Patient Navigator and UNB Master of Nursing Student. This research-based centre has two Patient Navigators who can help children, youth, their families and their care team, from finding access to services and resources, to completing complicated applications for programs or funding opportunities.
