The Mi'kmaq-Wolastoqey Centre is hosting a Udiscover UNB at MWC summer camp during the week of August 13 - 17, for Indigenous High school students heading into grades 10, 11 and 12. This initiative is to familiarize Indigenous students with the UNB Fredericton campus and its programs through an informal and exciting summer camp experience. It will establish a partnership between UNB and First Nation communities that will build a foundation of trust with the students, communities and the university. Through engaging with UNB faculty and indigenous knowledge keepers, students will be exposed to a wealth of knowledge that will help students gain a better appreciation an understanding of Mi'kmaq and Wolastoqey histories, cultures and contemporary issues.

It is essential for indigenous youth to become familiar with more of an in depth understanding of what MWC has to offer and the programs here are vigorous, supportive, academic and culturally appropriate. Students will receive an understanding of what it is like to attend university.  Students will be given the opportunity to stay in residence, eat in meal hall, take part in campus tours, attend mock classes, learn about the different faculties and much more.
