Parents of young athletes between 12 and 17 years old who compete at the regional or national level in swimming, track and field (athletics), football, hockey, soccer, and equestrian sports are invited to participate in a research project investigating the role of parents in promoting clean, doping-free sport.

Researchers in the Faculty of Kinesiology at UNB in Fredericton are interested in the role that parents of young athletes believe they play in preventing doping in sport, the challenges and barriers that parents face when speaking to their children about anti-doping, and how might parents nurture their children to embrace clean, doping-free sport.

Interviews will arranged be at the parents’ convenience.

Interested parents may contact project assistant, Jacob Weinstein at Jacob.weinstein@unb.ca or (514) 791-4737.

This study has been reviewed by the Research Ethics Board of the University of New Brunswick and is on file as REB 2018-074.
