Mary Astorino, an instructional designer focusing on educational technology, has created an “explainer” style video about student email etiquette when interacting with faculty and instructors. You are welcome to use it in your courses.

Email Etiquette: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_jL94Q66E4&feature=youtu.be

It was developed with VideoScribe, an easy-to-use software program for which CETL has licenses and is available in the Media Lab, room 234 of Marshall d’Avray Hall. (http://www.unb.ca/fredericton/cetl/mediaserv/medialab/index.html)

Along with the software, the Media Lab staff can provide training and coaching, if you’d like to try it to create an “explainer” style video of your own for your course.

The Email Etiquette is one part of a series of online multimedia items on the subject of digital literacy that CETL developed for instructors to educate students on the subject. Topics include cyberbullying, digital citizenship, online posting etiquette, determining the quality of online information, and using the Internet for content for assignments.

If you’d like to learn more about the digital literacy online modules or explainer videos, contact Mary Astorino at astorino@unb.ca.
