Starting Wednesday, July 25, ITS and ISS will begin replacing UNB’s wireless (Wi-Fi) equipment on all our campuses (Fredericton, Saint John and Moncton) with new and improved technology making wireless at UNB faster and more reliable.

At the same time, we’ll be disabling the myUNB WiFi network name and moving to eduroam, giving you Wi-Fi access at UNB as well as other universities and institutions around the world.

What if I’m already connected to eduroam?

ITS will be making behind the scenes network changes to eduroam – which has been available to the UNB community for a number of years – on Wednesday, July 25. If you have ever previously connected to eduroam you will need to forget the eduroam network and reconnect following the instructions below.

Connect to UNB’s new Wi-Fi (eduroam) starting July 25

To connect to eduroam (starting Wednesday, July 25):

  1. Forget myUNB WiFi and eduroam from your device’s list of available networks.
  2. Connect to eduroam using your:
    • ‘UNBloginID@unb.ca’ - don’t forget the ‘@unb.ca’
    •  UNB password

3. Accept the certificate when prompted.

When is myUNB WiFi going away?

myUNB WiFi will gradually become unavailable building by building as we upgrade the wireless equipment. See the upgrade schedule for specific dates and locations.

For this reason, we encourage you to connect to eduroam starting July 25 (see instructions above) so you have a seamless Wi-Fi connection regardless of whether you’re in a location that has been upgraded or not.
