W. Stewart MacNutt Memorial Lecture-FR

Dr. Micah Pawling, Associate Professor of History & Native American Studies at the University of Maine, will deliver the 2017-18 W. Stewart MacNutt Memorial Lecture entitled, “Passamaquoddy Waterscapes in the Nineteenth Century: Homelands, Ethnohistory, and Community Engagement” on Wednesday, March 28, from 5 - 7 p.m., in Tilley Hall, 102.
 
In this lecture, Professor Pawling will explore the significance of the different kinds of waterscapes in Passamaquoddy homeland, a region encompassing southwestern New Brunswick and downeast Maine.  Prof. Pawling will also address the responsibilities of researchers to engage and collaborate with local Indigenous communities.

Hosted by the faculty of arts, the W. Stewart MacNutt Memorial Lecture honours the late historian, professor and humanitarian for his many contributions to UNB and to the development of Atlantic Canadian history as a field of study.
