UNBF Residential Life Hiring Part-Time Faculty Staff Residence Fellow-FR

UNBF's Residential Life will hire a Residence Fellow.

Closing Date:  Wednesday, March 28, 2018 – 4 p.m.
Compensation: Apartment* and dining plan** (both taxable benefits)
Employment Date: July 2018 – April 30, 2019 (10 month contract***)
Appointment Type: Approximately 10 hours per week (office space not provided)

Residential Life, a division within Student Services, contributes to the creation of a campus environment that supports student success and student engagement in both academic pursuits and co-curricular life. As the Residence Fellow, the incumbent will be responsible for focusing on the academic needs of students in residence through collaboration with academic units and the various academic supports on campus, and in supporting Educational Proctors and helping develop our Living Learning Communities.

Representative Responsiblities:

  • Assist in the development of training sessions specifically for Educational Proctors
  • Facilitate regular meetings with Educational Proctors, both as a group and one on one
  • Hold regular drop-in hours for Education Proctors each week
  • Monitor performance of Educational Proctors, offering regular coaching and feedback
  • Plan and facilitate 1 large scale academic programs per semester for residence students
  • Ongoing assessment of various academic-focused programs
  • Continued collaboration with Residence Life Coordinators through ongoing meetings and regular communication
  • Research best practices of designing and promoting Living Learning Communities and present findings to Director, Residential Life
  • Attend Residence Team Meetings (one every three weeks)
  • Encourage faculty involvement in residence programming


  • Undergraduate degree in a related field, although preference will be given to those with Graduate or Post-Graduate degrees
  • Experience working in a leadership capacity within a residence community preferred, including knowledge of Living Learning Communities and need-based programming
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of student support trends, best practices and standards
  • Must be current Faculty member, although Staff will also be considered with appropriate experience
  • Experience in the creation and delivery of training programs for student staff members

*Unfurnished one bedroom apartment
**Dining plan valid during academic year only
***Incumbent will be required to re-apply for following year; if not returning will have an additional rent-free month in residence (May 2019)
