Join us for a special Raising the Teaching Bar, in conjunction with a Meet and Greet reception with the Dean of Libraries, Librarians, and Library staff on Friday, March 16, between 3  - 5 p.m.,  in the Hans W Klohn Commons, G16.  Refreshments will be provided.  We will start Raising the Teaching Bar at 4 p.m.

Engaging students as a guest lecturer.  We all know class visits from the librarians are thrilling spectacles, but would you believe even they have difficulties keeping students’ attention?  The three UNB librarians, David Ross, Alex Goudreau, and Phil Taber, will discuss different approaches they’ve taken to engage students when presenting as guest lecturers.  These techniques include: diction and code-switching, team teaching, teaching to assignments, and sharing humorous/odd examples.  These methods (and others) are applied by many instructors, and we look forward to a lively conversation on keeping and regaining student attention.
