The Gregg Centre for the Study of War and Society at the University of New Brunswick will present a public lecture entitled, “The Orange and the Other Green the 1974 Ulster Workers Strike and the British Army” on Wednesday, March 14, from 7 - 8:30 p.m., in the Public Archives of New Brunswick.

Dr. David Charters explores one of the enduring mysteries of "The Troubles": the charge that the British Army refused the British government's orders to break the 1974 Ulster Workers Council Strike.

The presentation draws upon his recent book Whose Mission Whose Orders? British Civil-Military Command and Control in Northern Ireland 1968-1974 (McGill-Queens University Press, 2017).

All are welcome!  For more information contact the Gregg Centre at or 506-453-4587.
