Nancy Doiron-Maillet, Nursing, will present on Monday, Feb. 26, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m., in the Harriet Irving Library, Milham Room.

The thread that binds together the sessions in the Small Teaching series is James Lang’s book “Small Teaching: Everyday Lessons from the Science of Learning.” Lang categorizes as small teaching: 1) brief classroom activities (five to 10 minutes), 2) one-time interventions in a course (might take up a whole class period but only happens once), 3) small modifications in course design or communication with your students.

Each session in the series focuses on one concept from cognitive theory and how it can be used in practice to enhance learning in your courses.

This particular session is about practicing, which is the topic of Chapter 5 in Lang’s book.

To register for this session and other sessions of this series, please visit the CETL Event Registration site.

NOTE: The first session of the series, Connecting, has been rescheduled and will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 28, from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m., in the Harriet Irving Library, Milham Room.
