Applications are being accepted for the position of Associate Dean in the School of Graduate Studies (Saint John campus). Dr. Bruce MacDonald currently holds this position and will step-away from the role June 30, 2018. With many thanks to Bruce for his long and effective service in support of graduate programming, we now solicit applications to fill the role.

The position is being advertised internally within UNB and will begin July 1, 2018. The position is 2/3 time and carries a stipend in addition to salary. Please see a list of representative responsibilities appended below. Interested individuals should submit an up-to-date CV and cover letter outlining their interests in the position and aspects of their experience they feel relevant to it. Materials should be forwarded to Ms. Jacqueline Seely (, Administrative Coordinator, School of Graduate Studies.  Applications will be accepted until Friday, March 16, 2018, after which the Search Committee will begin its review and deliberations.

Representative Responsibilities:

- Assist the Dean of Graduate Studies in all aspects of graduate programming at UNB, with particular responsibility for programs at UNB Saint John.
- Implement the policies of the School of Graduate Studies.
- Act as an advisor for inquiries regarding scholarship programs, NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR and other agencies.
- Chair PhD oral exams as requested by the Dean of Graduate Studies.
- Oversee the budget for graduate programs at UNB Saint John.
- Serve on the Executive Committee of the School of Graduate Studies.
- Represent the School of Graduate Studies on other University committees and/or in other review and planning exercises as needed.
- Represent the Dean as needed.
- Other activities as needed.
