UNB’s Marketing Office strives to build a stronger brand and reputation for the university. This year we’ve been recognized by our industry peers with 12 awards for our innovative approach to branding and marketing the UNB experience.

In 2017-18, we’ve continued to build the university’s reputation and increase visibility across Canada — and beyond — by sharing stories of our academic excellence and extraordinary research.

We’re showcasing our unique programs, experiential learning opportunities, student life, entrepreneurial spirit, innovative research and creativity.

We’re attracting undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, donors and partners.

We’re engaging and inspiring our alumni and communities.

2018 CASE Platinum Silver Award

The CASE Awards recognize innovative work in higher education. This year, we were honoured alongside Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

UNB received the 2018 CASE Platinum Silver Award in Best Practices in Communications and Marketing for our 2016-17 #OnlyHere animated results video. We are so pleased to be recognized for this piece, which our team created to guide the UNB community through the results of our 2016-17 #OnlyHere marketing campaign.

33rd Annual Educational Advertising Awards

The Educational Advertising Awards are the largest, longest-running and most respected educational advertising awards in the United States. They received more than 2,250 entries from over 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from around the world.

This year we were recognized for our:

  • Orientation Week GuideThe redesigned orientation guide features an updated look and feel, easy way-finding for faculty-specific programming and a removable schedule.
  • English Graduate Degree Poster: Promotes UNB's variety of English graduate degree offerings.
  • #OnlyHere vertical Facebook video ad: Vertical video ads on Facebook create an immersive experience for users and maximize ad recalls. We used this new format to capture attention and increase awareness.
  • 75+ programs Instagram ad: More than 200 million Instagram users are using stories every day. With 500,000 Canadian users in the 15–18 age group. Ads in Instagram stories create an opportunity for users to experience ads in a format they're used to seeing organic content in.
  • #OnlyHere Globe & Mail full-page ad: This high-impact, full-page, national newspaper ad features the #OnlyHere creative concept promoting a wide-variety of campaign proof points to share our story.
  • 2016-17 Annual Report: Moving from print to a digital Annual Report not only saved the university approximately $50,000, but increased the reach and exposure of the content.
  • Marine Additive Manufacturing Centre of Excellence brochureThis highly visual brochure features key messages from MAMCE, engaging visuals and highlights UNB's partnership with industry.
  • Business Awards Dinner marketing collateral: The suite of event collateral included a program, table cards, banners, branded registration platform and email invitations with a cohesive look and feel designed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Business Awards Dinner.
  • New Media: Our innovative Snapchat ads used a new auto-fill form to encourage entries to the Win Free First Year Tuition contest and increase leads for Recruitment.
  • #OnlyHere Recruitment & Marketing Campaign: Our #OnlyHere campaign is about showcasing unique, innovative and significant aspects of a university experience that you'll only find at UNB.
  • Engineering website redesign: The updated Engineering website involved more than a new design. Our team worked with dozens of faculty, staff and students to bring the Faculty of Engineering to life by creating compelling content and high-quality visuals that ladder up to the faculty's key messages and objectives.

Thank you for your support and feedback! We couldn’t do this without our strong working relationships and partnerships across the UNB community.
