Save the date! It's time again for our annual Backpack to Briefcase series. Presented by the UNB Law Library and Career Services, our sessions will help you transition from law school to working in a professional legal environment. Whether you're starting a summer job or your articling position, Backpack to Briefcase will give you the tools you need to succeed.

Admissions Process: Law Society of New Brunswick
Friday, March 29, 9:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m. in Room 14
Director of Admissions Danielle Kershaw will talk about the Law Society of New Brunswick's admissions process. If you are planning to article in New Brunswick, this is a great opportunity to meet Danielle and learn about the bar admission process.

Using a Legal Research Checklist
Friday, March 29, 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. in Room 2A
What is the one task that articling students do most during their articling year? Conduct legal research! This session will show you how to effectively use a research plan so that you can confidently write your legal memos this summer, regardless of what legal issue is thrown your way (and how little you know about that area of the law). Coffee and cookies will be provided!

Working in a small firm, non-profit, or government office? Don't have access to WestlawNext or Quicklaw? Never fear! This session will cover some of the free online resources that you can use to conduct legal research. Coffee and cookies will be provided!
