GGE: More than Surveying

Sponsored by International Business and Entrepreneurship Centre, the annual Data Challenge event encourages UNB students, in a competition setting, to test their analytical and processing skills, working with a set of real-world data. Last fall, 12 teams participated in the data analytics competition to select one of six global burden of disease data sets and arrive at a correct interpretation of the data and provide predictions drawn from the set.
They had to then present their process in a clear and concise manner. GGE’s own Nasrin Eshraghi Ivari, alongside her team “Co-Exist,” won first place in this competition and a $1,000 cheque from the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation! This just goes to show how far beyond surveying GGE can take you.
