“The GGE program prepares you for the job market in this field. It is intensive. It is intentional. It is proactive.”

Patrick Adda, a graduate of 2013 stated, “the staff and school facilities all work together to provide an excellent atmosphere for students to excel.” He also adds that the “professors are acclaimed and respected in the profession.” The GGE department is well diverse. Students from all over the world collaborate and work together, which brings an international perspective in Geodesy & Geomatics Engineering. Adda says that because of this “it teaches us how to work in diverse cultures.”

As a geodesist with Shell Canada in Calgary, Adda explains the ethics learned from his time in GGE helped create and mold him into an “expert with an attitude sought after in the industry.” Hard work, attention to detail, ensuring technical accuracies, teamwork, critical and proactive thinking, project management skills, leadership skills, etc., are all things Adda strengthened and further developed because of GGE and that has helped him grow in his career.
