Professor Brigitte Leblon, from the UNB Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Management, has been elected president of the Canadian Remote Sensing Society at its Annual General Meeting held on June 21, 2018 in Saskatoon.
The Canadian Remote Sensing Society was created in 1974 as a bilingual, fully independent not-for-profit professional society to provide a focal point for leadership and excellence to advance the remote sensing field. The Society maintains partnerships with other organizations in the remote sensing field, across Canada and abroad. The Society organizes an annual symposium and has a peer-review journal “Canadian Journal of Remote Sensing” published by Taylor and Francis. It also recognizes excellence in remote sensing through several national awards. The Society represents Canada at the International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS)
