Contract Opportunity - Indigenous Course

The Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Management, at the University of New Brunswick, is looking for a short-term, part-time contract person for the period of 1 March to 31 July to assist the Faculty’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Committee with the creation of an Indigenous course suitable for the Faculty. This is part of an ongoing effort in increase Indigenous content within our curriculum. The intent is for the course to be offered in the fall of 2018*.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Faculty TRC committee (which includes faculty members, staff, graduate & undergraduate students and alumni). Outcomes of the contract will include a course syllabus and accompanying documents describing the course objectives, content, teaching approach, external resources required. This supplemental content material could include a full reading list, proposed field trips, guest lecturers, and short descriptions of proposed lecture topics or other in-class activities. The course should be developed with consideration given to the Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Management’s learning objectives, which will be provided. A budget of $5000 is available for the contract.

Candidates are asked to submit a letter of interest for the contract along with a current resume or CV. The letter should outline the candidate’s qualifications for undertaking the tasks described above, including both educational background and experience. Non-formal educational experience with natural resources and natural resource management is considered an asset and should be described.  Please provide two references.
