3 Students win awards at Atlantic Society of Fish and Wildlife Biologist meeting

Graduate students Kelly McLean, Douglas Munn, and Delaney Brooks, working with Dr. Joe Nocera, recently presented at a Meeting of Atlantic Society of Fish and Wildlife Biologists. All three students received awards, taking first, second and third place respectively.

Kelly McLean wins first place and a $200 award for her presentation on Researching the effects of forestry on American black ducks and specifically the role wetland buffer width in maintaining American black duck populations in NB commercial forests. This presentation was authored by Ms. McLean along with her co-authors Bruce Pollard, Nic McLellan and Prof. Joe Nocera.

Douglas Munn was awarded second place and $100 for his presentation on Lyme Disease and how it can be tracked using game bird hearts. Mr. Munn authored this presentation along with co-authors Jackie Badcock, Robin Lindsey and Prof.  Joe Nocera.

Finally, Delaney Brooks was awarded third place and $50 for her presentation on Olive-sided Flycatchers and the role of buffer zones on OSFL population declines. Ms. Brooks authored this presentation along with her co-authors Nic McLellan and Prof. Joe Nocera.
