The Faculty of Arts and the Department of Culture and Media Studies congratulate Dr. Sabine LeBel on her new appointment as an Assistant Professor in Culture and Media Studies.
Dr. LeBel was born in Montréal and is joining us from Toronto, where she completed her PhD. She received her PhD from York & Ryerson University’s Joint Graduate Program in Communication & Culture.
Dr. LeBel's main research interests are: environmental media studies, with a focus on materiality and waste; mobile media art, especially soundwalks and cellphilms; and queer art practice. She also has an art practice. She and her collaborator are working on the third short film in an experimental, post-oil trilogy right now. The photo below is a still from her current film project.
