Communication Practices for Adult Education (ADED 3113)

This course will identify general theories of, and strategies for, oral, written and visual communications. Students will be expected to assess their skill levels in all three areas.

Introduction to Creative Writing: Poetry and Drama (ENGL 2195)

This course provides an introduction to the writing of poetry and drama, with a focus on basic technique, style, and form. It combines writing exercises and lectures on the elements of writing, but also introduces the workshop method, by which students provide critiques of each other’s work and develop editorial skills.

Survey Law I (GGE 4513)

Real property and boundaries in Canadian law are the focus of this engineering course. Topics include estates in land, land granting, and historical settlement patterns; land registration, systems and understanding boundary creation; managing uncertainties and misalignments of title and possession; dedication and survey of public roads and highways; and introduction to indigenous title.

Prohibition and Rum-Running in Canada (HIST 1305)

This general interest course introduces the historical method while exploring the controversial theme of prohibition. The course examines both protagonists in the struggle: prohibitionists, whose ideology was rooted in evangelical religion and an early strain of feminism, and the "Rummies" who fought to preserve a recreational drinking culture and the economic opportunities that it made possible.

In this course you will have the opportunity to analyze and interpret information in the diverse field of forensic biology by examining the medical basis of selected causes of death, and investigate the factors influencing human decomposition in a variety of conditions and environments.

Understanding human development, particularly the development of the self and how such development may be nurtured or thwarted within the educational setting, is the focus of this course. Examine issues, such as identity, personality, self-awareness, relationships and basic counselling skills.

Ethical Decision-Making in Rehabilitation Sciences (PHIL 3212)
