Brad Davidson had been dreaming of attending university since graduating from high school 20 years ago, but always thought it was beyond his capabilities. That was until 2020.
During the early months of the pandemic, Davidson's perspective changed as he began to focus on things that were essential and created value. It was then that he decided to look for some ways to improve his education.
Working full-time and raising children did not allow for a lot of free time, but the option to take online classes from the UNB College of Extended Learning (CEL) appealed to him.
"The idea that I could take classes from UNB, while intimidating, was just what I needed to take a difficult time and push myself intellectually."
After completing two courses, Davidson decided to apply to the Bachelor of Arts program as a part-time student.
"The day I received the acceptance email was one of the most incredible days of my life," says Davidson. "The confidence I gained from taking the classes CEL offers has been life-changing for someone who never thought they would succeed at the university level."
This summer, Davidson will be transitioning to full-time student status to attend UNB’s law school following the completion of his BA.
"I cannot thank the people at CEL enough, and I look forward to taking more classes with them."
