The Women’s Basketball team is pleased to accept donation from Grant Thornton who joined our team in October. Their generous contribution has allowed us to start building a more competitive program in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletics Association. In order to compete in arguably the toughest conference in Canada we need assistance from community partners that will allow us to have something that we can offer new recruits and maintain our current players. The money from Grant Thornton will allow us to travel to the U.S. to participate in a CanAm event with the University of Presque-Isle and the University of Fort Kent. The weakest part of our program is the lack of games out of conference in the off season and we are now able to get two games that would otherwise not be part of our schedule. The partnership with Grant Thornton is a great relationship as we are committed to graduating young professionals from our program and Grant Thornton is a local company that is growing and attracting young professionals from our region. One of our past team captains and league all-star Rachel Jefferson is now employed with them. We thank Grant Thornton for their assistance and it is a huge boost to our program.
