On Sunday, June 4, Colleague (known to most at UNB as Datatel) is being updated to the latest version, Colleague UI5. At the same time, the name ‘Datatel’ is officially being retired at UNB.

What does this mean to you?

Effective June 4:

  • The URL (link) for Colleague is changing. To access Colleague after June 4, you will need to log in to your myUNB Portal and click ‘Colleague’ in the launch menu. If you previously had Colleague bookmarked in your web browser, your link will no longer work.
  • Colleague will have a new look and feel. Don’t worry, all the same functionality will still be there, as well as some added improvements:
    • works in any web browser for Macs and Windows
    • does not require Silverlight to be installed on your computer
  • All instances of the word ‘Datatel’ on the UNB website will be gradually changed to ‘Colleague’.

Why are we replacing the name Datatel with Colleague?

Colleague is the official name of the Enterprise resource planning (ERP) software used at UNB.

Datatel refers to the former name of the company who developed the Colleague software. The company is now called Ellucian, while the software continues to be called Colleague.

Sneak Peek: Meet your new Colleague

You can take a look at the new Colleague before the official update on June 4 by logging in to your myUNB Portal and clicking ‘Colleague UI Test’ in the launch menu.

Note: This test environment is to allow you to explore the new Colleague without impacting live data.
