Free money used as bait in mouse trap

What you need to know about the latest phishing email reported at UNB:

  • It is being sent (supposedly) on behalf of the Canada Revenue Agency
  • Claims to have sent you an INTERAC e-Transfer
  • A link is provided with the description, “To deposit your money, click here”

What to do if you have received a similar email:

  • DO NOT click on the link (as tempting as it may be)
  • DO NOT respond
  • Report the email to the ITS Help Desk immediately

It is important to stay updated on the latest scams and to consistently review the warning signs so you are able to identity a potential phishing attempt.
