Another convincing phishing email has been reported at UNB.

RBC phishing email

What you need to know about the RBC phishing scam:

  • An email is being sent (supposedly) on behalf of the Royal Bank of Canada
  • It offers a credit of $375 to your RBC online account when you switch to online monthly statements by a certain date
  • Links are provided to “make the switch today”

What to do if you have received the scam email:

  • DO NOT reply to the email or click on any of the links
  • Report to the ITS Help Desk immediately

Many people may find this scam convincing as RBC has, in fact, been encouraging their clients to switch to electronic statements—it is important to keep your guard up at all times.
