Catch the latest buzz on Malware!email

Another strand of malware is out to get your banking information.

A new email scam claiming to be Air Canada, using phony webpages, is trying to steal your credit card number, license information, and even your social insurance number.

At any time of the year, students, faculty, and staff may use Air Canada for business, to fly home and see family, or even to go on vacation.

With the convenience of ordering and purchasing tickets online, it can become quite easy for a well-created email scam to appear legitimate when a traveller is waiting for their ticket or even an invoice via email.

Make sure to always check  a company’s policies around requesting your personal information before providing any details to them. In most cases, they will never ask for your personal or banking information via email.

Learn how you can avoid being scammed by visiting UNB’s Safe Computing website.
