After less than two months of negotiations the University of New Brunswick and the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers (AUNBT) Full-Time group are pleased to announce they have reached common ground on a tentative set of proposals for a new Collective Agreement.

“We are pleased to have reached an agreement,” says Dr. Van Lantz, Chief Negotiator for UNB. “We share a commitment to academic excellence and student success and that was prevalent amongst all discussions. Our intent from the beginning was to be transparent and collaborative, and we are delighted that the AUNBT team reciprocated.”

“The collaborative and constructive approach taken by the teams allowed both sides to bargain effectively and we were able to reach important and reasonable goals on behalf of our 549 members,” says AUNBT Chief Negotiator, Dr. Sue Blair. “The process was exceptionally open and positive and we hope it signals an on-going new direction in collective bargaining between the two parties.”

This tentative agreement is subject to ratification by the AUNBT Full-Time membership and the UNB Board of Governors.
