Marthe Larsen Haarr of UNB Saint John takes first place in the Poster PresentationScientists, academia and industry spent three days of plenary sessions, discussions and debates at the American Lobster in a Changing Ecosystem, A U.S.-Canada Science Symposium, held in Charlottetown, PEI in early November.

The event focused on the changes on seasonality issues, uncertainty in the marketplace and fishery vulnerabilities.

UNB was thrilled to sponsor awards presented to the following students at the event:

Oral presentations:

  • First place ($250 prize): Noah Oppenheim (University of Maine)
  • Second place ($125 prize): Ryan Stanley (Memorial University)

Poster presentations

  • First place: ($250 prize) Marthe Larsen Haarr (UNB Saint John)
  • Second place ($125 prize): Elizabeth M. Morrissey (University of New Hampshire)

The Prince Edward Island Fishermen’s Association hosted the event.
