The University of New Brunswick has partnered with an internationally recognized training program as part of ongoing efforts to encourage a community of responsibility on campus.

To date, over 600 students and university leaders, including all varsity student-athletes, all residence Dons and Proctors and all Orientation leaders on both campuses have received the Bringing in the Bystander training.

The program, developed by a team of experts at the University of New Hampshire, teaches individuals how to identify and safely intervene in instances where violent behavior may be or is at risk of occurring. It also aims to increase knowledge and awareness of the scope and continuum of sexual and relationship violence and how to respond to appropriately.

UNB will offer the program to the campus community as requested over the course of the year.
