As part of the annual Hynes Memorial Lecture series, David Schindler, Kilam Memorial Professor of Ecology, University of Alberta; and founder of the Experimental Lakes Area, will come to UNB to talk about the oil sands.

Two lectures will be presented in partnership with the Canadian Rivers Institute on Nov. 15 and 16:

  • The Oil Sands: Economic Saviour or Environmental Disaster? will take place at UNB Saint John on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. at the Hazen Hall Lecture Theatre.
  • The Dilemma of Controlling Cultural Eutrophication will take place at UNB Fredericton on Friday, Nov. 16, at 3 p.m. at the J. Harper Kent Auditorium, Wu Conference Centre.
