Happy New Brunswick Day from UNB
New Brunswick Day is upon us onceagain. While the long weekend marks an opportunity for family and friends to gather and celebrate, this unique holiday also provides us with a chance to reflect on our collective past and, just as importantly, glance ahead to our future.
While we no doubt face challenges – such as an aging population and the affordability of public programs –we also have tremendous opportunities.
New Brunswick is blessed in many ways, including with an abundance of stunning geography and valuable natural resources. Most precious of all, however, is our homegrown pool of talented, diverse, and resourceful people.
UNB has an important role to play in the creation of educated and engaged citizens, and in sharing our research and expertise. We are doing well connecting to the needs of New Brunswick, withmany partners, including our federal and provincial governments, municipalities, NGOs, industries, and many others.
There is so much we can achieve by working together. In the meantime, I hope you have the chance to relax and enjoy the company of loved ones this weekend.
Happy New Brunswick Day to all!
