ACAA Soccer Championships update

The men’s soccer championship game has been rescheduled to tomorrow night (Tuesday) at the Canada Games Stadium at 5:30 p.m. UNB Saint John and Holland Collage are in the final.
UNB Saint John will host the 2011 Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association (ACAA) men’s and women’s soccer championships on Saturday, Oct. 29 and Sunday, Oct. 30 at the Canada Games Stadium.

This event will see the top four men’s and top four women’s teams battling for the ACAA title, and a trip to the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) nationals in Quebec.

“Holland College women and UNB Saint John men will be defending their respective titles, but the competition is strong and every team in the championship could potentially win,” said David Munro, UNB Saint John athletics director.

The schedule is as follows:

Saturday, Oct. 29

Women’s semi-finals

11 a.m. – University of King’s College Blue Devils (1st) vs. Crandall Chargers (4th)

1 p.m. -   Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics (2nd) vs. Holland College Hurricanes (3rd)

Men’s semi-finals

3:30 p.m. – Holland College Hurricanes (1st) vs. Univ. of King’s College Blue Devils (4th)

5:30 p.m. – St. Thomas University Tommies (2nd) vs. UNB Saint John Seawolves (3rd)

Sunday, Oct. 30

Women’s finals

12 p.m. -  Semi-final winners

Men’s finals

2:30 p.m. – Semi-final winners

Admission for the event is $5 for a day pass,  $8 for a tournament pass, children under 12 are free. Students can also attend for free.
